The pop-lite station launched a rebrand in the present day ‘with the distinguished BBC Live performance Orchestra’ which others within the BBC try to demolish.
Robert Gallacher, Commissioning Editor, BBC Pop, says: “We’re delighted to launch Radio 2’s newly-updated station sound to our listeners. That includes new singers and the great BBC Live performance Orchestra, it encapsulates the community’s wealthy musical heritage and encompasses a variety of temper themes for our reveals, from upbeat to chilled.”
