A photographer sued Cam’ron for promoting merchandise that includes a memorable picture of the Dipset member.
In accordance with Billboard, Djamilla Cochran filed a lawsuit towards Cam’ron in New Jersey on Tuesday (April 11). Cochran accused the rapper of utilizing her picture of him with out licensing it.
Cochran photographed Cam’ron carrying a pink coat with an identical flip telephone in 2003. The picture shortly grew to become a part of Killa Cam’s model.
Cam’ron allegedly plastered the picture on t-shirts, hoodies and different gadgets to promote on his Dipset Couture retailer. Cochran accused the Diplomats artist of ignoring a number of warnings about copyright infringement.
“Getty Photographs notified defendants of their infringing actions by mail and electronic mail on a number of events,” Cochran’s attorneys wrote, per Billboard. “Regardless of these notifications, defendants continued to promote merchandise and continued to show the {photograph} on web site and accounts.”
Cam’ron was hit with the lawsuit just a few days after going through backlash for his feedback on a photograph of Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors. Killa Cam took a shot on the Creed 3 co-stars after seeing a picture of Majors embracing Jordan.
“The rationale I didn’t go see Creed,” he wrote on Instagram.
Cam’ron denied he was homophobic in response to criticism of his remarks.
