For the previous 40 years, the group of Sainte-Pétronille, situated on the western tip of Île d’Orléans, has hosted an annual summer time live performance sequence within the village’s ancestral church, which seats not more than 300.
Within the early Eighties, a gaggle of volunteer musicians and music lovers recognized the hilly panorama and century-old chapel, with its distinctive acoustics, as the perfect setting for intimate chamber-music concert events.
