Round 1993-1994 I began somewhat fanzine known as STRUTTER´ZINE, which was targeted on largely impartial North American Hardrock/AOR/Glamrockbands, and through these early years I obtained numerous stunning press maps/data and cassette tapes/CDs with a purpose to evaluate these small city bands. In some way I will need to have missed loads, as a result of again then there was an enormous scene within the USA, and it was in these pre-internet days laborious to maintain up. Lots of bands had been sorta mixing the 80s laborious rock riffs and melodies with the newly American trendy rocksound from Seattle (ALICE IN CHAINS being an important affect), and that resulted within the 90s impartial American Hardrocksound that so many bands adopted through the mid 90s.
D.F.M. was a type of bands that recorded materials these days, however by no means launched something official and ultimately they broke up in 1994. The band blended late 80s/early 90s American melodic hair steel melodies (SKID ROW/WARRANT) with some groovy and funky rhythms (EXTREME, EVERY MOTHER’S NIGHTMARE) and in addition added ALICE IN CHAINS influences to match the sound that was standard round these days in America. The consequence was an amazing sound with sturdy vocals and melodies, and now nearly 30 years later 10 of their songs have lastly made it onto an official CD launch known as Streets Of Rage on the METALLIC BLUE RECORDS label. D.F.M. was initially shaped within the early 90’s, and had a number of songs featured in motion pictures like Showdown and Double Dragon. The band was shaped round Tracy Swider on Lead Guitars, Dana Freebairn on vocals, Adam Shore on bass and backing vocals, Todd Lane on drums, and Jamie Christensen on guitar. Though I discussed 10 songs are included, 4 of them are literally new tunes, as a result of they had been recorded in 2022, whereas the primary 6 songs had been recorded in 1993. Musically talking really there’s no actual massive adjustments, and from begin to end that is prime time prime quality groovy heavy melodic hardrock with a proggy and various steel affect right here and there.
Songs like Ardour, Trash King, Sea Of Religion and particularly the very good semi-ballad Beginning Over are a pleasure to take heed to and present that D.F.M. may have simply been signed to a significant label if that they had come across the nook just some years earlier when SKID ROW, WARRANT, TESLA and such had their information out on main labels.
