Liberian-Norwegian pianist, Kamilla Arku attracts on her numerous background
as inspiration for her work as a performer, educator and scholar. She
has carried out as a soloist and chamber musician in Europe, the US, and
Africa. Latest highlights embrace performances on the Royal Opera Home,
Hastings Piano Pageant, and the Worldwide Florence Value Pageant.
Along with performing, Arku can be dedicated to volunteer efforts,
and is the Founder and Director of Music for Liberia,
a charity supporting younger folks in Liberia by means of music-based
fundraising. Kamilla is a graduate of Yale College, and the Royal
Northern Faculty of Music.
Becoming a member of
Arku on this program is flutist Wendy Hymes, director of the IMI
Chamber Gamers, additionally a passionate performer of music by numerous
composers. Her doctoral dissertation is on music written for flute by
chosen African composers. She has carried out broadly within the US and
overseas.
