It is simply enjoyable and makes me transfer. It was enjoyable making the video, enjoyable recording a music that comes out very easy, that was an actual straightforward music to jot down and to carry out, like I stated, very very similar to the early ’80s for us.”

As for the inspiration for the “72 Seasons” album title, Hetfield stated: “’72 Seasons’ got here out of a e book I used to be studying about childhood, mainly, and checking out childhood as an grownup. And 72 seasons is mainly the primary 18 years of your life. How do you evolve and develop and mature and develop your personal concepts and id of self after these first 72 seasons? Some issues are tougher than others — you understand, some issues you possibly can’t unsee and so they’re with you for the remainder of your life, and different stuff you’re capable of rewind the tape and make a brand new tape in your life. In order that’s the true attention-grabbing half for me, is the way you’re capable of tackle these conditions as an grownup and mature.”

He continued: “There’s been numerous darkness in my life and in our profession and issues which have occurred with us, however at all times having a way of hope, at all times having the sunshine that is in that darkness… With out darkness, there is no mild, and having the ability to focus a bit of extra on the sunshine in life as an alternative of all the… the way it was once and the way horrible it’s… There’s numerous good issues happening in life — specializing in that as an alternative, and it helps to stability out my life. And there isn’t any one that means to it — everybody has some sense of hope or mild of their life, and, clearly, music is mine. And the music particularly talks about gathering of individuals at a live performance and [being] capable of see the enjoyment and the life and the love that comes out of music and the household and the kinship in that, and only a sense of uplifting.”
