“Handed Me By”
Yaeji is a singer, songwriter, and producer from New York. Throughout her childhood, she moved between Queens, Atlanta, and Seoul. Whereas she was in school within the States, she began DJing, and releasing her personal music. That led to 2 EPs in 2017, and since then, she’s additionally finished remixes for Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, and Robyn. Yaeji received the Worldwide Breakthrough Award on the AIM Awards in 2020. This week she’s releasing her debut album, With A Hammer.
For this episode, I talked to Yaeji about her tune “Handed Me By.” She sings the tune in Korean and English, and he or she instructed me how utilizing each languages provides her a broader palette to specific her concepts.
